Fast Websites, and Websites That Feel Fast

There are two kinds of fast on the web, and a good site needs both.

The first is real speed: how quickly the page actually loads. This is where the unglamorous engineering lives. We compress and resize images so a hero photo is not a five megabyte download. We ship only the code a page needs. We lean on modern hosting that serves your site from close to wherever your visitor happens to be.

The second is perceived speed: how fast it feels. A page can be technically quick and still feel sluggish if the layout jumps around while it loads, or if a button does nothing for a moment after a tap. Small things fix this. Reserving space for images before they arrive stops the content from shifting. A subtle loading state tells someone their click registered.

Most visitors will never know why a site felt effortless. They just stay longer, click more, and leave with a better impression of the business behind it. That is the whole point.

Speed is not a feature you bolt on at the end. It is a hundred small decisions made all the way through.
